Roland Ho

As Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Philanthropy, Roland Ho partners with visionary donors, corporations and foundations to help them realize the lasting impact of their generosity. Leading a dedicated team within University Advancement & Alumni Relations, Roland oversees Planned Giving, Corporate and Foundation Relations, National Constituent Engagement, and Scholarships, providing key support for the chancellor’s priorities and strategic initiatives across the campus.

Roland’s work centers on collaboration and shared purpose. He and his team take pride in helping donors and institutional partners craft meaningful legacies that reflect their values while advancing UC Irvine’s mission to improve lives through education, research and service. Through thoughtful planning and trusted relationships, he has guided countless individuals and families in shaping gifts that create enduring benefit for students, faculty and the broader community. By working closely with donors and their advisors, Roland ensures that each gift not only creates a lasting legacy through UC Irvine but also aligns with the donor’s personal tax and financial goals – transforming generosity into enduring impact.

Over the course of his career at UC Irvine, Roland has helped donors contribute approximately $1.4 billion in planned and deferred gifts to higher education – ensuring that their generosity continues to inspire and uplift for generations to come.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Roland spent a decade with the Orange County Community Foundation, where he worked alongside philanthropic families to maximize their charitable impact through scholarships, grants and strategic giving. A proud UC Irvine alumnus with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, Roland is also a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG).
